Windows Vista Ultimate is awesome

Vista's pricing is strategic. Basic goes for $150, Home premium maybe $250. If you want Ultimate, pay $300

I've been playing for under 12 hours and so far, I'm loving every moment of it. Being a Multi-threaded Operating System, both my CPU cores are fully utilised. Unlike Win XP where its "TOO efficient", there, only about 10% is used for day to day tasked. In Vista, I'm making my system work, surprisingly the speed is good, at least on par with XP, possibly faster in some multi-tasking tasks. Having 2 GB of RAM, the majority of system tasks are loaded to RAM. This makes the whole experience smoother.

Sidebar is a god-sent. Yeah, there are XP equivalents, but the gadgets (and the system graphics in general) all are very pleasing to the eyes. Very very convenient!

There is minimal lag in the overall experience due to the multi-threaded thing. Speech recognition is quite fun too. My bit torrent speeds are usual (with proper tweaks).

2GB of RAM is a must. 3GB is the limit due to 32-bit limitations, so might as well have a pair of gigabyte RAM sticks. There are some bugs with the 64-bit version with 32-bit software, so for now, this is the best setup.

More to come later.
