Online Rep (utation)

,,,

I've been "online" for about 12 years. If I were to brew some Black Label when I first found out about the wonderful world of the Internet, I would have a nice bottle (or crate, pallette, shipment, warehouse, whateveR) of Black Label.

I was a big fan of Tech TV. Since G4 bought over, and Kevin Rose & team chose mutual separation from the network, I've been keeping track of what they're up to. Digg.com came up, and it has been my numero-uno news sources since June 2005.

Alien searching programme. As per previous post (somewhere late last year), I've been searching for aliens on my computer since April 1999. Then, it was the Power Macintosh G3/233MHz work horse, crunching a single work "unit" in about 24 hours (later 30 hours due to extra computation). If the similar work was done on my current machine, it would be done in under 5 minutes.

Lowyat.net . Yupp, stuck with it since Jan 6, 2003. Actually it was earlier. They had a system upgrade in 2003 hence a lot of users were the pioneers circa 2003. nais.

E-mail. I had (and still have) this crazy email account, pip@spl.at. Here's a record of an e-mail I sent back in 2001 (after 9/11). I did some crazy shit and made some crazy promises to "net fast". Started IRC back in Form 1 (1999) but was very active in #2g2k (2000) on Undernet

Oh, and I got Gmail back in July 2004. Back then, people were SELLING invites on ebay for up to 200 US dollars. Gmail launched on April 1, 2004 as an invitation-only beta release and became available to the general public on February 7, 2007 [Wikipedia].

Oh, and I was a not-so-proud owner of an iPhone (1st gen) back in April 2008. What happen to it? Let's chat over a cup of teh tarik!
