Air Asia's - So You Wanna Be A Pilot
Round 1 - Lets see if I meet the pre-requisites
1. 18-28 years old? Yupp, I'm 23 this year.
2. A2 English & Maths, B3 Physics. Erm.. not
really there, but very close. 'O' Levels is definitely harder. Check.
3. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. BM needs abit polishing, but written? I am good at it.
4. Physically / mentally fit with good eyesight, 6/60 not colour blind. I got a shrink to verify
my sanity, so Check. Physically, I'm great. I can do 1km in 8 minutes (avg 7.5km/h). Goes gym 3-4 times a week. Eyesight-doubtful. Check.
5. Height 5ft 3in. I'm 5ft 6in. Check.
6. Sign a training bond. Check.
(pip@thepippo.com, Subang Jaya, if I win, please contact me here)
Woohoo, looks like I'm at least 85% prepared!
Round 2 - Competition Highlights
1. There will be 10 winners to be called for interview.
2. Spend a day with REAL pilots. Nais.
3. Selected based on blog entry. Nais.
4. Pilot interviews. I'm quite confident.
5. Create a video? I got some ideas.
All I want is a weekend in Sepang and having a chance to mingle with the pilots and potential pilots. My old high school buddy Azman Hanif (FB citation required) has been flying in the UK for the past 2 years. It would be nice to fly with him one day.
Like most contestants, flying has been a childhood dream! I am blessed to have been to the West Coast of the USA, London, Paris and Lucern, Hong Kong and Mainland China, stopped by Taiwan and Japan on transit, Perth.
I'm an Air Asia faithful. If you check my records, I do at least 2-3 flights a year while back in Brunei in 2001-2003. Went to Cambodia, Vietnam 2 years ago, all on Air Asia. Among the Airlines I've been on, I still think Singapore Airlines is the benchmark. Air Asia is definitely closing in. Maybe if you put that "GPS Flight Info console" on every seats, I'll 100% vote for AirAsia.
I'm finishing my Business degree at Taylors Business School in November 2008. From July - November, I'm only taking 2 remaining Marketing subjects. It only requires me to stay committed for about 8 hours per week. Pilot training during this time would be awesome!
I'm a Christian, so that makes me a good man.
I'm still single, so I really need this pilot job! I hear Air Asia has beautiful ladies ;)
Even if you put me on 4 flights from Penang -> KL sector daily, I would GLADLY fly the trips. The views from the cockpit must be magnificent.
So Mr. Tony, even if I'm on your second or third choice candidate, give me that field trip weekend in Sepang. I'd love to take a tour, and have a go at the simulator.
God bless!
*I'll create a video later, mid April?
