Sos Wow. DAP's Lim Guan Eng promises to use RM 17mil pubilc funds to give Penangites cheap water (almost free). Opposition leader (now Barisan National) slams the move as being populist! His suggestion, give RM 1000 per month to the hardcore poor. What a genius! Firstly, the hardcore poor are likely to be uneducated. They would probably spend it all on Toto or Magnum (as I would ;P ) But the point being they don't know Financial Management. Prolly splurge it all within the first 3 days. My suggestion would be to give the poor low-cost housing, then educate them so they can perform factory jobs or at least a rm 800/mth job. Education, Shelter and Food.
